Description
The wainscot chairs, like the refectory table, would originally have been made in oak, and heavily carved in different designs.
The original of this one twelfth scale chair was hand- carved by John from which a mould was made. The chairs have been cast from John’s original and as you will see, have kept the detail of his wonderful carving.
The chair has the two dragons displayed on the top of the back, a boar’s head and also various leaf designs. The legs have stretchers between them for strength and the back legs are shaped to prevent the chair falling over….
For the collectors of 24th scale furniture, John has made a similar wainscot chair in the half scale.
